Reason for the Action GS corpuls has been advised by their third-party battery manufacturer of a problem with a specific batch of Lithium-Ion batteries used in the corpuls CPR.

Further investigation found that some batteries may be affected and may have a higher risk of unexpected failure. According to the manufacturer, approximately 3% of the batteries used, from the affected batch, may develop an electrical defect due to poorly soldered joints, which could cause sudden battery failure.

An unexpected battery failure can cause the mechanical CPR device to be temporarily unavailable during use. This may result in interruptions or delays in life-saving treatment during emergency situations and, in worst case, lead to serious health consequences for patients.

There have been no reports of serious incidents resulting in patient harm related to this problem.
Instructions for Customers/Users Customers are to identify all batteries in their facility that belong to the corpuls CPR device.

Check whether any battery belongs to batch A1075843 and has a serial number on the affected list and action as follows:

a. If ready-to-use spare batteries are not available due to unforeseen circumstances, continue to use the device with the affected batteries until replacement batteries are arranged and be aware of the potential problems described in the customer letter.
b. If ready-to-use spare batteries are available for all affected corpuls CPR devices, take all identified affected batteries out of service immediately and clearly label them as “Do not use / Recall”. Do not use the affected batteries.

Following receipt of a completed Customer Response Form, a DTA representative will contact users to coordinate replacement of batteries.

Replacement batteries are expected to become available by the end of November 2026.
